2005-2006 NSDUH State Estimates of Substance Use and Mental Disorders
State estimates of substance use and mental disorders based on the combined 2005 and 2006 National Surveys on Drug Use and Health (NSDUHs) are provided. The NSDUH is an annual survey of the civilian, noninstutionalized population of the United States aged 12 years or older. All estimates are based on a small area estimation (SAE) methodology in which State-level NSDUH data are combined with county and census block group/tract-level data from the State. Please note that the 2005-2006 estimates are revisions and may differ from previously released estimates. More details are in Sections A.7 and B.11.4 in http://www.samhsa.gov/data/NSDUH/2k11State/NSDUHsaeMethodology2011.htm. The 2004-2005 estimates did not change.
General information on the methodology is in Sections A and B of the 2010-2011 NSDUH small area estimation summary documentation.
