Link: | PDF - 115Kb

This presentation briefly reviews the quadrant model for co-occurring disorders, which identifies the range of co-occurring mental health and substance use issues by several and primary locus of care. The presenters describe the limitations, which include a lack of detail about defining severity. Results from a study show that the quadrant model should not be used to improve service delivery. The presenters offer further information on the multiple services and service locations needed to treat a range of co-occurring disorders, as well as policy barriers and recommendations.
